Those were some pretty good fights on Friday. I was not to impressed with the KO artist Luis Hernamdez but his younger brother Jose defenitly looks like a force to be reckoned with. You missed the exhibition bout with Joel and Angel Hernandez, two younger Hernandez siblings, who slugged it out for 3 tough rounds. In just three short rounds, the audience was able to see the unmistakable talent possesed by both fighters. It was good to see a boxing coach turned promoter,George Galvan, in his first boxing promotion. Well it was good seeing you again and keep up the great work. He is doing well and will start being able to do some light work with his right hand. It is January 12, 2008. Since the injury, he has not been able to do any work at all with his right hand other than rehabbing it with the therapist. His Doctor, Dr. Cook, evaluated his hand and gave the okay for some very light work. He will re-evaluate it again in 2 weeks with the hope that Kerm will be able to start picking up the training pace for whatever is next. I don't thing Cintron is quite ready for Williams as the "Punisher" would be on him like white of rice. If I were guiding Cintron, I would take one more fight with a tough vet before facing Williams. While I give him "full props" for his chin, toughness and determination...his style will lead him to major health problems if he's not careful. In this fight alone, I'd bet he sustained 2-3 legitimate concusions. His brain was rattling around his skull and while we can all admire it...his future is going to be most challenging if he has more fights like this one. Cintron was not at his best and had a hurt hand but...he was still the better fighter by far and left the ring with only a hurt hand...nothing else! He beat a "human punching bag" with a "great chin" via TKO in 10 rounds. To face adversity, and still prevail...that is what a Champion does! Bring on Williams!!
